Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 12 October 2026
About these terms
These terms apply to your use of the website at harboroughchamber.co.uk and to membership of, and purchases from, Market Harborough Chamber of Trade and Commerce (“the Chamber”, “we”, “us”). The Chamber is an unincorporated association run by its committee. You can contact us at secretary@harboroughchamber.co.uk or at Market Harborough Chamber of Trade and Commerce
c/o Cheyettes
149 St Mary’s Rd
Market Harborough
LE16 7DZ.
By using the website, joining the Chamber or buying a ticket, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or join.
Using the website
Anyone can browse the website, read the news and see the events calendar. Advertising a business in the directory, and using the member area, is for members only.
You agree to use the website lawfully and not to:
- misuse it, or try to gain unauthorised access to it, other accounts or our systems
- upload anything harmful, such as viruses or malicious code
- copy or collect directory information in bulk, or use it for unsolicited marketing
- post or submit material that is false, misleading, offensive or infringes anyone’s rights
If you have a member account, keep your login details secure and tell us at once if you think someone else has used them. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend access if these terms are broken.
Membership
There are two levels of membership, open to businesses and professionals with an interest in the Market Harborough area.
| Level | Fee | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Member | £75 per year | Benefits as listed on the page accessible from the “Join the Chamber” button |
| Patron | £250 per year | Benefits as listed on the page accessible from the “Join the Chamber” button |
Membership is for one business. Benefits belong to that business and cannot be transferred or resold. We may decline or end a membership if we reasonably believe it would harm the Chamber’s reputation or interests, and will refund the unused part of the fee if we do so.
Fees, payment and cancellation
Fees are shown in pounds sterling and are paid when you join, and automatically on the anniversary of your joining date. These are made through our website. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We will email you a receipt.
Membership lasts for 12 months from the date of payment. Renewal is automatic. We will remind you before your renewal date.
You can cancel your membership at any time by accessing your member portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and fees already paid are not refunded unless the law requires it or we have ended your membership under these terms. If you cancel or your membership lapses, your directory listing and member benefits end and your listing is removed. Members must cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge.
If you buy something from us online as a consumer rather than for business purposes, you may have additional statutory rights, which these terms do not affect.
Directory listings and Spotlight
You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of everything you submit for your listing or a Spotlight feature, including text, logos and images. You confirm that you own it or have permission to use it, and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or break the law.
You give us a free licence to display that content on the website, in our newsletter and on our social channels for as long as you are a member, and for Spotlight features for as long as they remain on the site.
We may edit content for length, style or accuracy, and may refuse or remove anything we consider inaccurate, misleading, offensive or unsuitable. Listing in the directory is not an endorsement of any business, and we do not check the services or claims of members.
Events and tickets
The website lists events run by the Chamber and events run by our members or other organisations. Some are free and some are paid.
For Chamber events, the details shown on the event page, including date, venue, price and any limits on numbers, apply to your booking. Paid tickets are confirmed once payment is received. Where an event is free but needs booking, please cancel if you can no longer attend so others can take your place.
If you cannot attend a paid event, you may pass your ticket to a colleague by letting us know in advance. We will refund tickets if we cancel an event, but we are not responsible for your travel or other costs. We may change a speaker, programme or venue where necessary.
Events run by members or other organisations are their own responsibility. We list them as a service, and any booking, payment or complaint is between you and the organiser. Please behave courteously at all events; we may ask anyone who does not to leave.
Intellectual property and badges
The website’s design, text, logo and other material belong to the Chamber or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other rights. You may view and print pages for your own business use, but may not copy, republish or sell them without our written permission. Content you supply remains yours, subject to the licence above.
Current members may display the “Proud Member” badge, and Patrons the Patron badge, on their website, email signature and marketing, as supplied by us and without alteration. You must stop using the badge when your membership ends, and must not use it in a way that suggests the Chamber endorses your goods or services.
Liability, links, law and changes
Liability. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, we are not liable for loss of profit, business or goodwill, or for indirect loss, arising from your use of the website, a directory listing, or an event. Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the previous 12 months.
Information and links. We try to keep the website accurate and available but do not guarantee it. Information on it is general and is not professional advice. We are not responsible for the content of third-party websites we link to.
Privacy and cookies. How we use personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
Changes. We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continued use of the website or membership after a change means you accept it. We will tell members about significant changes.
